You should get into the habit of backing up your Kentico CMS website. It is actually very easy to do - go to the Kentico CMS Site Manager and click on the Export Site icon. At this point follow the steps in the wizard and the resulting backup will be placed on the file system under the CMSSiteUtils\Exports directory.

A cautionary note: It would be prudent to occasionally test your backups on a development server. Sometimes a software bug, user error, or improper naming convention can cause an incomplete backup. This could be a silent killer because all indications will be that the backup was successful.
